Toddler Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats

  • 1 Cup Almond Flour

  • ¼ – ½  Cup Raisins or other chopped dried fruit

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 TBS Coconut Oil

  • 1 TBS Honey or Maple Syrup

  • 1 – 2 TBS Apple Sauce or fruit/veggie puree (I like carrots!)

Equipment:

1 Medium Bowl

1 Mixing Spoon

1 Tablespoon

1 Cup Measuring Cup

1 Non-stick Baking Sheet

Step One: gather ingredients and equipment (it is very important to have everything organized ahead of time if you are attempting to bake with a toddler). Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step Two: Mix together oats, almond flour and dried fruit in a medium –sized bowl until thoroughly combined.

Step Three: Add egg, oil, sweetener, and apple sauce or puree to dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

Step Four: Scoop heaping teaspoons of batter onto your non-stick baking sheet about ½ inch apart.

Step Five: Bake for 10 – 12 minutes, or until cooked through and slightly golden brown.

Step Six: Let cool and enjoy!

Pro Tip: Make a double batch and freeze a bunch for those days that you do not have time to bake (aka most days).

When my daughter was first born I told myself that I was going to be ‘Supermom’ and make all her food for her. Now that she is older I have embraced the convenience of store-bought snacks for my own sanity. However, I still love being able to give her treats that I know are good for her and that we can have fun making together. These cookies are also a great money-saving alternative to organic, toddler-friendly snack bars.
