The Perfect Margarita
While living in New Mexico, my friends and I worked tirelessly to craft the Perfect Margarita. It was a grueling, thankless task but in the end perfection was achieved.
There really is nothing better than a perfect Margarita on a hot Summer day. While I recommend adjusting any recipe to your particular taste, fresh lime juice is an ingredient that should not be substituted unless it is an emergency situation (like you are out of limes). In regards to that I do encourage everyone to invest in a lime juicer. It is well worth it.
I now share the recipe for perfection with you.
The Perfect Margarita
For a Pitcher
8 ounces tequila
6 ounces lime juice
2 ounces orange liqueur
Lime wedges for garnish
Step One: mix tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur together in a pitcher of ice.
Step Two: serve immediately. Garnish with lime wedges. Or if you are feeling brave; sliced jalapeno.
Feel free to double this recipe or add a couple more ounces of tequila to it based on how rough your week has been. We enjoy a strong cocktail and appreciate being able to taste the alcohol in a beverage but we understand that this is not true for everyone. If this recipe is too boozy or not sweet enough add an extra ounce of lime juice and triple sec.
